Furnished criminals on Tuesday attacked the flat of famous comic, Bright Okpocha, otherwise known as Basketmouth, in the Lekki territory of Lagos State, trucking without end assets.
Our journalist learnt that the firearm using looters raged Basketmouth's flat in the Lekki Phase 1 territory around 2am, and held the humorist and his relatives prisoner for around two hours.
This is generally as some shooters assaulted inhabitants of Ogudu in the Ojota zone, amid which there was a trade of gunfire and one theft suspect was shot dead.
The gunfire trade, which happened around 12pm, was between the police and the escaping criminals.
PUNCH Metro learnt that in the theft in Basketmouth's flat, the looters carried off assets of the humorist, including the Closed-Circuit Television Cameras introduced in the condo.
A kindred comic and Basketmouth's companion, Bovi Ugboma, said on his Instagram page that despite the fact that the criminals trucked away property amid the two-hour assault, nobody was harmed.
He said, "Basketmouth was victimized toward the beginning of today in his home in the Lekki Phase 1 territory somewhere around 2am and 4am. He and his relatives were held at gunpoint, while the dismal scene kept going. No one was harmed. Resources were taken away, including the CCTV gadget. A report has been made at a police headquarters. He can't be come to right now, however he will be back at the earliest opportunity. While this is tragic news, we are greatly grateful for their wellbeing."
A source in the zone said the thieves were suspected to be individuals who knew Basketmouth's relatives and their calendars.
"For the looters to have trucked away the CCTV, it implied that they knew the building exceptionally well. Say thanks to God that nobody was harmed," he included.
Our journalist learnt that the burglary was accounted for at the Maroko Police Division.
In the Ogudu region, Ojota, on Tuesday, a few looters assaulted houses and trade fire with policemen.
An observer, who talked on state of secrecy, said, "The thieves came at around 12pm. They assaulted a few houses. The police were alarmed. There was a weapon fight amongst them and the outfitted looters. One of the criminals was shot dead amid the trade."
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, affirmed the assault on Basketmouth's flat.
She said, "The order got the report that some suspected looters broke into the entertainer's home and trucked away a few assets. The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has coordinated that the case be exchanged to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja, for further examination."
She had yet to answer to an instant message sent to her telephone on the Ogudu theft occurrence.
