However as hard as the Obama/Clinton/Kerry triumverate may attempt to cover it up, it gives the idea that the message about the genuine circumstance in Buhari's Nigeria is starting to get crosswise over to the world. As a glaring case of this grant me to share the expressions of a solid Trump supporter, Republican Congressman Tom Marino, which were contained in a letter that he sent to Secretary of State John Kerry a couple days back.
Nigeria's Thisday daily paper on fourth September 2016 caught the substance of that letter as takes after:
"An individual from the United States Congress, Tom Marino, has composed a letter to Secretary of State, John Kerry, requesting that the US government withhold security help to Nigeria until President Muhammadu Buhari exhibits a "promise to comprehensive government and the most fundamental principles of popular government: opportunity to gather and the right to speak freely".
He additionally requested that the State Department abstain from offering warplanes and other military gear to Nigeria until President Buhari sets up a reputation of working towards incorporation.
In a two-page letter dated September 1, 2016 and tended to Kerry, a duplicate of which was only acquired by THISDAY yesterday, Marino, a Republican from Pennsylvania who accepted office on January 3, 2011, said there were various cautioning signs rising in the Buhari organization that flag "the man who once drove Nigeria as a military tyrant may slide towards previous absolutist propensities".
The Congressman, who is an individual from the Committees on the Judiciary, Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs, and the Chairman, Sub-board of trustees on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law, said Nigerian government must "consider responsible those individuals from the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in additional legal killings and atrocities".
In the six-passage letter to Kerry, Marino likewise communicated worry over Nigeria's against debasement war, saying "of extra concern is President Buhari's specific hostile to defilement drive, which has concentrated only on individuals from the resistance party, over-looking defilement amongst some of Buhari's nearest consultants. Politicizing his against debasement endeavors has just fortified threatening vibe among southerners".
His letter to Kerry peruses: "Dear Secretary Kerry, I am energized by the individual interest you have taken in supporting Nigeria and its organization as it goes up against endemic debasement, various extremist developments, and a wavering economy.
Nonetheless, I accept there are various cautioning signs developing in the Buhari organization that flag "the man who once drove Nigeria as a military tyrant may slide towards previous imperious propensities."
"I would ask the U.S. to withhold its security help to the country until President Buhari shows a promise to comprehensive government and the most essential precepts of majority rule government: opportunity to collect and the right to speak freely.
A sensible begin towards this dedication is for the Nigerian government to consider responsible those individuals from the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Military complicit in additional legal killings and atrocities".
"Human rights bunches like Amnesty International have generally archived torment, coldhearted treatment, and additional legal killings of helpless Nigerians since President Buhari took office."
Citing Amnesty International Report, he composed, "in the most recent six months, Nigeria's military has unlawfully killed no less than 350 individuals and permitted more than 168 individuals, including infants and kids, to kick the bucket in military detainment."
He promote composed: "The Secretary to the Government of Kaduna State even confessed to covering 347 of those murdered in a mass grave. Keeping in mind President Buhari guaranteed quick judgment, his words rang vacant.
Rather than quick changes, Buhari reestablished Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, who Amnesty International uncovered was accountable for the Nigerian military unit that executed more than 640 unarmed, previous prisoners.
"Additionally, in discrete occurrences concerning the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Nigerian Army has murdered no less than 36 – the genuine number is likely higher – individuals since December 2015 trying to hush resistance and control endeavors by the gathering to assemble openly."
Portraying President Buhari as a previous military despot whose rule (as military head of state) was stopped by an upset, he expressed that the President has persistently disregarded inclusivity for encompassing himself with counselors and priests from the north of the nation and the locale he considers home.
"Of President Buhari's 122 representatives, 77 are from the north and control a hefty portion of the key services and positions of force. Doubt is as of now high in Nigeria and favoring Northerners for key arrangements has just threatened the issue.
These arrangements are likewise essentially Muslim in the north and Christian in the south, adding a religious perspective to long-held territorial inclinations.
"Of extra concern is President Buhari's particular hostile to defilement drive, which has concentrated solely on individuals from the resistance party, over-looking debasement amongst some of Buhari's nearest counselors. Politicizing his against defilement endeavors has just fortified antagonistic vibe among southerners," he asserted in the letter.
He said the Obama Administration would propel equity by encouraging the Buhari Administration to act definitively to consider responsible individuals from the police and military.
The congressman said, "This is a legitimate initial phase in making a self evident, maintained responsibility to comprehensive vote based system, with appropriated power in Nigeria. Until President Buhari sets up a reputation of working towards consideration, we request that the State Department abstain from offering warplanes and other military hardware to the nation.
"The State Department ought to urge President Buhari to frame an administration that speaks to the assorted qualities of its residents and permits contradicting voices to be listened. Vote based system can flourish just if individuals are allowed to gather, to express their convictions, and voice their worries."
Congressman Marino should be complimented. He has talked the brains of a great many the individuals who truly think about what is happening in Nigeria from everywhere throughout the world.
He has composed what the mind lion's share of Nigeria's decision and political tip top accept however set out not say openly out of trepidation of abuse and retaliations from their own particular government.
In particular Congressman Marino mirrors the psyche of Mr. Donald Trump, his gathering's presidential applicant, on this matter and in fact the perspectives of the lion's share of profoundly concerned American Christians.
This is welcome backing for those of us that are tired of Buhari's ace north, master Hausa Fulani and professional Muslim motivation.
Congressman Marino has appropriately watched the miserable and dishonorable occasions that are unfurling in our nation.
These are occasions that a significant number of us cautioned the Nigerian individuals would wind up happening on the off chance that they committed the error of voting Buhari into force amid a years ago presidential decision battle.
In spite of the fact that we were disregarded, offended, embarrassed, mistreated, dishonestly charged and treated with hatred and contempt for talking reality, our words have ended up being prophetic. Today we are seeing those terrible occasions that we cautioned about unfurling directly in front of us.
The primary concern is as per the following: on the off chance that we need Nigeria to quit outlining this improper and absolutely perilous course and on the off chance that we wish to get off the "street to Kigali" we should supplicate close by our American companions for Donald Trump to win the presidential decision in November.
License me to advance this intercession with a fascinating commitment from Mr. Richard Akinwande Olorunbi. In the wake of perusing Congressmam Morino's letter he composed the accompanying on Facebook:
"An outsider is presently representing southerners who are under persecution by Islamist Buhari and his fear monger Fulani bunch. This helps to remember a well known quote : ''I liberated a huge number of slaves, I could have liberated thousands increasingly if just they knew they were slaves". This is pitiful in light of the fact that countless abused are dumb to the point that regardless they trust their oppressors and yell "sai Buhari". One thing is sure however, as the political circumstance in Nigeria break down step by step, Buhari and his Fulani psychological oppressor killers are presently more prone to wind up universal criminal court in the Hague".
How appropiate Mr. Olorunbi's words are and I say a major "so be it" to his petition.
In conclusion let us consider the expressions of Mr. Stephen Asake, a brilliant essayist, an ardent Christian and a man who has earned the appreciation and love of numerous throughout the years.
Mr. Asake is the convenor and manager of the Christian Information Network (a WhatsApp visit room) and in his most recent paper titled "Like Cyrus In The Bible, Like Donald Trump" he composed, bury alia, the accompanying:
"The verbal confrontation between the "Trumpers" and "Clintoners" is getting energized by the day in Nigeria, equaling the beat in America.
As a matter of fact, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and all other chat platforms and social media discussion groups, are saturated with TRUMP vs CLINTON debates.
I know of not less tha four different Trump vs Clinton WhatsApp chat groups where supporters of both candidates slug it out.
Many talented writers and public affairs commentators have also written articles and public commentaries to make their preferences between the two candidates known.
One of such is no other person than the Cicero of our time, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of Aviation and presidential spokeman during the Olusegun Obasanjo presidency.
In one of his articles he revealed his preference for Trump when he quoted the following words by the Republican candidate thus:
"The rise of ISIS is the direct result of policy decisions made by President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton. We cannot let this evil continue. We will defeat Islamic terrorism just like we've defeated every threat before".
He ended his article by saying that ''How right he is. Let us hope that he wins because if he does the world will be a far safer and better place for believers''.
This thinking is very popular among Nigerian Christians. Though most commentators are of the view that both Trump and Hilary are not known to be committed Christians and so the preference of Trump by Evangelical Christians is misplaced.
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has raised a very crucial issue: the issue of the Christian faith of both candidates. I am a 'Trumper' (Trump supporter) too!
Not because I think he is a Christian or not, but because I find in him a man of courage who, in a politically correct world where nobody wants to speak against establishment, Trump will dare to speak it out.
In a world where the persecution, dehumanisation and biased treatment against Christians is most rampant, Trump will dare to call a spade by its stark name.
At a time when in most countries of the world with a muslim majority they continue to commit genocide against Christians and other minorities, Trump dares to cry out for justice.
In an America that was founded on acknowledgement of God and principles of Christianity and where morally bankrupt President Obama is subtly implementing policies that seek to uproot Christianity and America's cherished Christian heritage, it is only Donald J. Trump that dares to hit the nail, not only on the head but with his head by shouting foul!.
I can go on and on but let me turn to some of Trump's critics. Many of them have continued to doubt his Christianity, haba! Whom among those is a better Christian? Who among those avowed critics and holier than thou incurables can ''cast the first stone'? Only God knows who his true followers are. Those criticising Trump's.
To my mind even if Trump is not a church going christian, but openly talks about Christians and christianity in a world where many are either ashamed or afraid to do so, he deserves our prayers and support.
After all, God can use anybody, Christian or not, born again or not to bring deliverance to His people. In fact there are Biblical passages replete with such stories of how God used pagan rulers to save His people from destruction.
In the book of Isa'iah, God used a Persian King by the name of Cyrus for the good of the Jewish people, even though Cyrus was a "pagan" king. Just as Trump is being regarded as non-Christian by his detractors. How in the world could this possibly have happened?"
Mr. Asake has served us a cerebal contribution which can hardly be faulted. Kudos to him.
Permit me to end this contribution by answering the question that he posed in his last sentence. In reference to the rise of Cyrus, the pagan king who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem, he asked "how could this possibly havework happened?"
The answer is as follows: it happened because the Holy Spirit is at work and because the Holy Bible tells us that "God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform". It also says "He uses the foolish things of this world to confirm the wisdom of the wise".
It follows that the Lord can use anything or anyone, including a loud, rumbustious, colourful and passionate pagan King, to effect His purpose and restore the fortunes of His people.
He did it with the Persian King Cyrus and, by His grace and power, He will also do it with Donald J. Trump.
