BBOG Defies Police, Marches on Aso Rock Villa

The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) bunch on Tuesday got through a police cordon and walked on the Presidential Villa, Abuja to enlist its interest for more solid endeavors by the government to safeguard the optional school young ladies who were snatched by the fear based oppressor bunch, Boko Haram, from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014.

The Nigeria Police Force had on Monday issued a request confining the BBOG's day by day challenges to their Unity Fountain, Maitama base. The request came against the foundation of two challenge walks on the Presidential Villa in the most recent one month that were prematurely ended by the police.

The gathering drove by their joint conveners, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili and Aisha Yesufu, were however astounded to meet at the door of the Presidential Villa, another gathering, "With Buhari I Stand," that had gone to pay a solidarity visit to President Muhammadu Buhari.

"The interest for the salvage of the Chibok young ladies is not a benefit," Yesufu told the police staff that had endeavored to keep them from getting to the seat of force.

The walk yesterday was the primary disobedient one by the gathering that had a running fight with the police and other security offices over their emphasis on passing on their requests for a speedier and more organized endeavors at safeguarding the young ladies to the president actually.

For a long time, the BBOG had been on the Chibok young ladies' case, charging the central government to act all the more definitively to save 217 of them that are still in the guardianship of Boko Haram.

Notwithstanding, there was a turn yesterday as the new gathering, #With Buhari I Stand, developed to restrict the exercises of the BBOG and the circumstance would have worsened into fisticuffs notwithstanding the nearness and mediation of security agents.

As the BBOG set out from its Unity Fountain base, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abiodun Alamutu had met with the pioneers of the gathering to illuminate them of an order confining their exercises to their base. He however declined to uncover the wellspring of the order.

Ezekwesili, who declined to be deterred, introduced a letter marked by an associate reviewer general of police (AIG) that offered authorization to the gathering to set out on the quiet challenge.

Taking after the presentation of the letter, the ACP permitted the gathering to continue, yet its walk was however brief as Deputy Commissioner of Police M. D. Garba halted the gathering and coordinated the BBOG to come back to its base.

Ezekwesili quickly tended to the press, clarifying their disappointment with the lazy demeanor of the national government to the salvage of the young ladies.

She said: "When the 'confirmation of life' video indicating Dorcas Yakubu was discharged by the Boko Haram faction which has been holding them hostage for 876 days, the BBOG chose to give the central government one week inside which to show proof of unequivocal activity to safeguard our Chibok young ladies."

She clarified that the gathering settled on that choice guided by the way that on fourteenth April 2016, the Boko Haram order had discharged a video to CNN, proposing that the young ladies were still alive, including that weeks after, one of the people stole, Amina Ali, was discovered meandering in the Sambisa woodland, where she was grabbed by the regular citizen JTF and gave over to the Nigerian military powers that brought her back home.

Ezekwesili said: "The president said the arrival of Amina Ali was a vital defining moment in the endeavors to recover our Chibok young ladies to their families, expressing that she was going to give imperative data that will make the legislature bring back her associates. In any case, nothing was done to that impact. There was no move made, and no correspondence made to us from the central government."

She said the gathering was more tormented by the random reaction to the second "verification of life" video discharged on 14 August, 2016 indicating Dorcas Yakubu, who was distinguished by her mom, Esther Yakubu, making a supplication for salvage. Dorcas was appeared against the foundation of around 50 of her associates in bondage.

Ezekwesili, who said the gathering had walked unhindered to the Villa on three distinct events, asked why the police abruptly kept this one, including that tragically this was going on under a president who had promised in his inaugural discourse that he would not consider Nigeria to be free until the young ladies were brought back home and alive.

In the interim, the Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Mr. Mustafa Mohammed, has said anybody or gathering meaning to participate in broad daylight parade ought to acquire a license from his summon.

He talked in an announcement by the charge's Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah, and said he saw with genuine concern the blatant nonchalance for the law by a few people and gathering of people who laid attack to the FCT as challenges and exhibits.

Mohammed said: "These aimless activities which are done in cluttered and now and again wild way make ridiculous pressure and worry among reputable residents and in the process hinder genuine business exercises.

"It is on this note the summon is making it clear that it will keep on being proficient in releasing its naturally alloted parts as per worldwide best practices particularly as it identifies with the basic privileges of natives."
