Youths shut down Agip facility in Rivers

Angry Youths on Wednesday close down the OB-OB gas plant having a place with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company in Omoku, the central station of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The irate adolescents said they chose to close down the office when NAOC declined to meet and interface with them on issues influencing them, including work and the need to actualize the substance of a current Memorandum of Understanding.


The young people, who droned war tunes while they shaped a bar around the fundamental access to the office, promised that the gas plant would stay close until NOAC started to make the best choice by listening to them.

VP of Omoku Youth Association, Mr. Emeka Ababiri, told our journalist in a phone meeting that his individuals started to picket the point where the office was situated in Omoku at around 6am.

Ababiri clarified that the young affiliation had composed arrangement of letters to the administration of NAOC on the need a meeting, where they could talk about the path forward, including that the oil organization neglected to respect any of the solicitations.

He said, "The OB-OB gas plant having a place with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company in Omoku was closed down at around 6am today by Omoku young people. We are furious on the grounds that we don't care for the way we have been dealt with by the oil organization.

"Agip is arranged in Ogbaland, including Omoku, however the organization has declined to take up with us, the Omoku Youth Association. We have composed arrangement of letters to them for us to interface and search for the route forward.

"A portion of the organization's obligations under the Memorandum of Understanding like street recovery and youth vocation have been deserted and we trust it is the ideal opportunity for us to make an intense stride and compel the organization to hear us out."

Ababiri brought up that the waiting youth unemployment was in charge of the high rate of wrongdoing in the range, including that no adolescent would have sufficient energy to take part in militancy or different types of wrongdoing in the event that he was productively utilized.
