Abia governorship: Appeal court vacates High court's judgement nullifying Ikpeazu's election

The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has decided that the evacuation of Gov. Okezie Ipeazu as legislative leader of Abia State by the Federal High Court Abuja on June 27th is invalid and void. The five part board of judges put aside the judgment of Justice Okon Abang sacking Ikpeazu from office over charges of filling false assessment reports amid the PDP governorship primaries in 2014.


The judgment had verging on tossed the state into disarray after INEC instantly issued Ikpeazu's opponent, Uche Ogah, a declaration of return as taught by Justice Abang. The circumstance however went under control after Ikpeazu petitioned for a request on the decision.
