Police capture 3 individuals from infamous hijack group in Kogi State, salvage casualties

The Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) has captured three individuals from an infamous hijack group that have threatened Kogi State and its environs and safeguarded four abducted casualties at various areas.


An announcement by Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Don Awunah said an exceptional insight drove operation directed by the agents of the Intelligence Response Team of the IGP's Monitoring Unit at various dark spots in Kogi State, three individuals from a famous hijack posse that has for some time worked in significant urban areas in Kogi and neighboring States were trailed and captured at their safehouses in the edge of Egume and Anyimgba Towns in Kogi State.

The pioneer of the posse who gave his name as Ibrahim Nasarawa drove the agents of Intelligence Response Team to their nook where Edward Abutu Amedu was held prisoner. On locating the Operatives, the equipped gatekeepers who were positioned by the pack to keep watch over their casualties opened flame on the Police and the agents reacted and overwhelmed them in a strategic operation that saw three individuals from the grab posse endure deadly wounds while their casualty was saved unhurt. Two of our men managed shot wounds and are at present reacting to treatment in the clinic while alternate individuals from the posse got away with slug wounds.

In another organized operation taking into account valid insight created by Operatives of the knowledge Response Team, three individuals from an adrenaline junkie hijack posse that kidnapped Mrs. Mayo Ohemi, Nichodemus Kadiri and Miss Victoria Abdul from Acharu Egume territory of Kogi State were captured and their admission prompted the salvage of the casualties who were incacerated in the kidnapers' camp from where they requested a payoff of twenty million naira. The safeguarded casualties who managed different degrees of wounds in the hands of their abductors are currently accepting treatment in the Hospital.

The captured suspects are: Ojonimi Negedu, 32, Awodi Ezekiel, 26, Micheal Sule, 21.
