New Prisons Comptroller-General Ahmed Falsified His Age

Mr. Ja'afaru Ahmed, the new Comptroller-General (CG) of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), was included in age creation. Mr. Ahmed, who was selected by President Muhammadu Buhari in May as successor to Dr. Diminish Ekpendu, was an Assistant Comptroller-General the NPS home office in Abuja.

As per NPS archives in the ownership of SaharaReporters, Mr. Ahmed joined the administration on 30 November 1985, at 28 years old. He was presented on the authoritative unit at the NPS home office.

The records gave Mr. Ahmed's date of birth when he joined the administration on July 21, 1957. The date of birth stayed steady until 2015 when Mr. Ahmed cut two years off his age and touched base at a date of birth of July 21, 1959. NPS archives posting individuals from the top echelon of the administration in 2015 strikingly indicated Mr. Ahmed, an indigene of Jega Local Government Area of Kebbi State, as the 6th most noteworthy set officer. The archives, in any case, demonstrated an alternate date of birth to what he guaranteed at the time he enrolled in the administration.

NPS sources revealed to SaharaReporters that the age misrepresentation was empowered by resigned General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazzau, the Minister of the Interior, who needed Mr. Ahmed to wind up the GG of the NPS and invested some energy in the post before he resigns. The ramifications of the adulteration is that Mr. Ahmed has deceitfully increased two additional years in administration.
