Fayose, Obanikoro Clashed Over Arms Cash, Aluko Says


A previous Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Dr. Temitope Aluko, on Tuesday said Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose and the previous Minister of State (Defense) Musiliu Obanikoro, conflicted over the enormous money sent for the June 21, 2014 governorship survey in the state.

Aluko, who uncovered this amid a live meeting program on ADABA 88.9 FM checked by our reporter, said Zenith Bank did not support the senator's decision battle.

He clarified that Zenith Bank just gave Fayose N200 million after he had won the governorship race.
Aluko, who asserted that Fayose did not have up to N10 million in his own record before challenging the governorship race in 2014, included that the senator's essential race was supported by Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He asserted that it was after Fayose had won the essential race that money from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and oil contractual workers was sent to subsidize the race crusade.

He said Zenith Bank and other corporate associations accompanied business recommendations after Fayose had won the race, demanding that the senator's claim that his battle was supported by Zenith Bank was an "explicit falsehood."

Aluko said amid the meeting that Fayose obtained five houses with the N2.3 billion, which was a rest of the slush reserves from ONSA in decision areas in Abuja, Banana Island and Victoria Island in Lagos.

Talking on the quarrel amongst Fayose and Obanikoro on the arms money, Aluko expressed that an emergency of certainty broke out between the team taking after revelation that there was a shortage of N80 million in the cash carried via plane to Akure for the governorship race.

He said: "The Presidency gave us security and cash, the cash was sent from a Diamond Bank office through a record keep running by Sylvan MacNamara, an organization claimed by Obanikoro.

"My manager (Fayose) said he needed to get his own in real money and that was the reason course of action was made to get his own in real money and that was the reason such an enormous sum (N2.1 billion) was carried via plane. Obanikoro can't assert not to have brought the cash.

"He (Fayose) picked his man, Abiodun Agbele, to keep the cash in a Zenith Bank account and the cash was held up at Zenith Bank, Alagbaka Branch in Akure. The exchange was not recorded and it got to a phase when it was found that the cash was short by N80 million.

"This created an emergency amongst Fayose and Obanikoro who brought cash thrice from Abuja. He (Obanikoro) brought different things separated from cash which I won't unveil now and it was from it that N1 billion was discharged to INEC authorities to control Ekiti and Osun surveys.

"Fayose was debilitating previous President Goodluck Jonathan that he (Fayose) must convey so Jonathan will win in Southwest. All the PDP seniors were kept out of picture on the exchanges and money and a portion of the money conveyed did not get to their destinations.

"The money carried on the plane was not went into the plane show, the N2.1 billion was conveyed to a bank at 4:30am in Ekiti. The N2.3 billion staying from the aggregate money got for the decision was utilized to purchase house in Abuja and the house has a place with Fayose.

"Fayose obtained five houses in Victoria Island and Banana Island. The property in Dubai was acquired by a kindred who is known as Bisi in Ekiti however is known as Femi abroad. Inquiries are being asked on the N3 billion used to buy the Dubai property yet I emphatically trust that we will recoup our cash."
